48-Hour Online Fundraiser for Netroots endorsed candidate Eric Massa.
We are now less than 36 hours away from the close of the first quarter, at midnight on Friday, March 31. As you know, this is a crucial time for Congressional challengers to raise the funds that will allow us to move into the spring and summer months fully armed to take on our Republican opponents.
We have already raised $5000 from our dedicated supporters across the country. We will continue to update our fundraising goals. You can join us by going to our website, Massa for Congress to see our totals.
Our goal to raise $15,000 cannot be done without your help. Click here to help us. We can meet this goal with your help today.
We have some very exciting developments to report from the campaign trail. Please read on.
NY-29 Democrats Unite Behind Massa for Congress
The Monroe County Democrats endorsed Eric Massa for Congress earlier this month. The Monroe County Democratic endorsement makes this a united Democratic front across all eight counties wholly or partially within the 29th district to support Eric's candidacy. The other counties include Allegany, Chemung, Cattaraugus, Monroe, Ontario, Steuben, Schuyler and Yates. The sweep of all eight county endorsements is unprecedented for a 29 th District candidate and we are both honored and humbled to have earned their unanimous support.
At an announcement press conference Eric told the assembled crowd that "the President's recent visit to this area underscored the discontent that has been brewing here for some time and should serve as a wake up call to our leaders in Washington - that they have been living in constant denial of the real problems here at home and will pay the price at the polls in November."
D.C. Event a Success, National Support Building
We were thrilled with our recent event in Washington , D.C., from the support and encouragement provided to our campaign by our hosts, General Wes Clark, Admiral William Crowe, and special guest Senator Max Cleland. We are also honored to have received the support of Senator Hillary Clinton and House Minority Whip Steny Hoyer, who stopped by to offer their kind words and encouragement.
They, along with our host committee, headlined by the dean of the NY delegation Congressman Charles Rangel, helped us raise close to $20,000 during our short D.C. trip.
Our other generous hosts included Congressman Marion Berry, Congresswoman Jane Harman, Congresswoman Carolyn McCarthy, Congressman Gene Taylor
Secretary John Dalton, Secretary Joe Reeder, Matthew Cary and The Veterans and Military Families for Progress, Shawn Olds and The Veterans for National Security Foundation, Colonel Richard Klass USAF (Ret) executive director of VetPAC, Martin Erim and Eileen Parise and Americans for a Stronger National Security, Mike Lyon and The Band of Brothers '06 Ron Baumgarten, Kate Boyce, Greg Caplan, Steve Cheney USMC (Ret), Howard Park and Art Sullivan, and Wes Clark and WesPAC
"Netroots" and "GoodWorks" On Board
We continue to make a splash online. As a grassroots campaign, the netroots are a key strategy that allows us to reach out to a national audience on issues of importance to the 29 th district and the nation as a whole. We have assembled a top rate blogging team that is now helping other Fighting Dem candidates create their own netroots strategies.
As a result, our campaign was recently endorsed by the Netroots, one of only four active campaigns to receive this support. "These are candidates who have strong stands and a good shot at winning," said Netroots. " Massa 's military background and whip smart common sense leadership style make him perfect for this rural district."

We are also honored to have recently received the endorsement of GoodWorks-PAC, an organization that supports campaigns that embrace public service and civic engagement.
